Day 01 - Arrive in late afternoon and transfer to Airport Garden Hotel near airport.
If time permits, evening birding in the hotel garden, looking for common garden birds.
Overnight stay at the Airport Garden Hotel.
Day 02 - After breakfast leave for Sigiriya.
Afternoon visit Sigiriya forest , looking for waterbirds, dry lowland open country and forest birds including some endemics and nocturnal birds. Also butterflies, forest mammals and other wildlife.
Overnight stay at Hotel Sigiriya.
Day 03 - In Sigiriya, visit the forest and other habitats, looking for waterbirds, dry lowland open country and forest birds including some endemics and nocturnal birds. Also butterflies, forest mammals and other wildlife.
Overnight stay at the Hotel Sigiriya.
Day 04 - After breakfast leave for Kandy .
After lunch visit Botanic gardens, looking for wet lowland open country and forest birds including some endemics. Also butterflies, some mammals and other wildlife.
Overnight stay at Hotel Suisse in Kandy.
Day 05 - After early breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya in the high hills, on route visit patch of tall wet forest in Kandy looking for wet lowland forest birds including some endemics.
Evening visit Victoria Park in Nuwara Eliya town looking for highland open country and forest birds including endemics and Himalayan migrants. Also butterflies, highland forest mammals and other wildlife.
Overnight stay at Galway Forest Lodge hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 06 – Early morning visit Horton Plains National Park on further higher up in the hills, consists of Grasslands and montane forest in higher cool climatic conditions, looking for highland open country and forest birds including endemics. Also butterflies, highland forest mammals and other wildlife.
Overnight stay at the Galway Forest Lodge hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 07– Morning leave for kitulgala.
Afternoon visit Kitulgala rainforest looking for wet lowland forest birds including endemics and nocturnal birds. Also butterflies, forest mammals and other wildlife.
Overnight stay at Kitulgala Rest House.
Day 08 – Full day in Kitulgala, looking for wet lowland forest birds including endemics and nocturnal birds. Also butterflies, forest mammals and other wildlife.
Overnight stay at the Kitulgala Rest House.
Day 09 – Morning leave for Sinharaja.
Afternoon visit Sinharaja rainforest looking for wet lowland forest birds including endemics and nocturnal birds. Also butterflies, forest mammals and other wildlife.
Overnight stay at Martin’s Forest View Lodge in Sinharaja.
Day 10 – Full day at Sinharaja rainforest.
Looking for wet lowland forest birds including endemics and nocturnal birds. Also butterflies, forest mammals and other wildlife.

Day 11– Full day at Sinharaja rainforest.
Looking for wet lowland forest birds including endemics and nocturnal birds. Also butterflies, forest mammals and other wildlife.

Day 12 – Morning leave for Embilipitiya.
After lunch visit Udawalawa National Park consisting grassland and forest in dry climatic conditions, looking for dry forest, open country and grassland birds including some endemics. Also butterflies, open country and forest mammals, and other wildlife.
Overnight stay at Centauria Tourist Hotel in Embilipitiya.
Day 13 – After early breakfast leave for Tissamaharama (Tissa), on route stop at wetlands looking for waterbirds like bitterns, shorebirds etc.
After lunch visit Yala National Park consisting wetlands, grasslands, scrublands and forest in dry climatic conditions, looking for waterbirds, shorebirds, dry open country, forest and nocturnal birds including some endemics. Also butterflies, open country and forest mammals, and other wildlife.
Overnight stay at Priyankara Hotel in Tissa.
Day 14 – Morning visit Bundala National Park consisting wetlands, scrublands and forest in dry climatic conditions, looking for waterbirds, shorebirds, coastal seabirds, dry open country, forest birds including some endemics. Also butterflies, open country and forest mammals, and other wildlife.
Afternoon visit wetlands in and around Tissa.
Looking for waterbirds (bitterns, etc), dry open country and nocturnal birds including some endemics. Also butterflies, open country mammals and other wildlife.
Overnight stay at the Priyankara Hotel in Tissa.
Day 15 – According to the departure time of flight, leave for Airport Garden Hotel near the airport either after breakfast or lunch (c. 6 hrs drive from Tissa).
