Overview
This trek of Phopikha valley at 3000m is one of the few glacial valleys in Bhutan. It is chosen home of the rare Black Necked Cranes which migrate here in winter from the Tibetan plateau. Gangtey Gompa is the only Nyingmapa monastery on the western side of the black mountains. This moderate trek visits the villages of Gogona and Khotokha, passing through meadows, fields, and forests of Juniper, magnolia and rhododendrons. Considered as one of the finest low level treks.

Itinerary Detail
Day 01 – Arrive Paro. Welcomed by The Explore Nepal representative and transfer to Kichu Resort. O/n.
Day 02 – Paro Sightseeing & drive to Thimphu. O/n.
Day 03 – Drive 5 hrs. to Gangtey via Punakha. O/n Camp or Lodge.
Day 04 – Trek begins from Gangtey – Gogona. 15 kms. 5/6 hrs. Camp alt. 2700m.
Day 05 – Gogona – Khotokha. 16 kms. 6/7 hrs. Climb over Shobju la pass 3600m. Camp alt. 2800m.
Day 06 – Khotokha – Chazam. 15 kms. 5/6 hrs. Climb over Mulaila pass. 3000m. Trek ends & drive to Wangdiphodrang. O/n Wangdi Resort.
Day 07 – Drive to Paro via Thimphu. O/n Kichu Resort.
Day 08 – Departure for onward destinations.
