Overview
Bangladesh can be identified as one of the richest country for bird watching of wild varieties of birds. Being located in the area of Indo-gangetic delta in Bangladesh more than 600 species of birds that are commonly found in the different regions of Bangladesh particularly in the area of (1) Central South West (2) South East West and (3) North East Haor Basin.
But to get a clean picture of birds habitants for an inquisitive bird watcher while in Bangladesh shall have to undertake massive tour program to the forest zone like the Hillforest, Natural Mangrove forest of the Sundarbans and Sal forest. However, for a short staying bird watcher, the following tour itinerary will be very much interesting.
Probable Birds to be seen:
Out of 315 species the common birds are Adjutant stork, Kingstork, Heron, Egrets, Pelican, Skylark, Eagle, Falcon, Hawk, Harrier, Buzard, Kite, Vulture, Godwall, Godwit, Kingfisher, woodpecker, spoonbill, Flycatcher, Oystercatcher, Curlew, Snipes, Sea-gull, Sandpiper, Tern, Teal, Tit, Pipit, Hoopie, Green pigeon, Emarld dove, parakeet, Cuckoo, Bulbul, Myna, Magpie, Robin, Black headed oriole, Racket tailed Drongo, Nightjar, Wagtail, Owel, Thrush, Babblar,
Warblar, Pintail, Goose, Purple, moorhen, Red jungle fowl, Finfoot, jacana, lapwing, Roller, Bee-eater, Munia, crested Bunting Minivet, scarlet minivet, masked Finfoot and so many local & migratory birds.

Itinerary Detail
Day 01: Arrive Dhaka
Arrive Dhaka and transfer to designated hotel. If time permits (on day 01 or 10) half day tour city sight seeing may be arranged to visit the gorgeous Dhaka University area, Lalbagh Fort, Dhakeswari Temple
and the attractive Parliament Building. Overnight stay at Dhaka.
Day 02: Drive to Mongla/ Sundarban (8 hrs.)
In the morning drive (8 hrs.) to Mongla. Up on arrival board on motor launch & start cruising south towards Sundarban. Following the formalities at the forest department Station near Mongla Port continue cruise to the south‐eastern part of Sundarban. Overnight on board.
Day 03: Sundarban
Shortly after sunrise explore the narrow creeks aboard a wooden rowboat, allowing a close look at the unique mangrove fauna & flora. Start for Kotka, Up on arrival at Kotka, will offer different forest activities including bird watching, an easy trek to the pristine beach facing the Bay of Bengal of a hike through the mangroves. Overnight on board at Katka.
Day 04: Sundarban
Early morning explore the forest enjoy the different activities of forest birds, the boat will move to Kotchikhali. After lunch the boat will start the return journey towards Mongla via Supoti forest station. Overnight on board at Karomjal.
Day 05: Sundarban‐Dhaka
Early in the morning short visit Karomjal. We back to the boat, the boat will resume its journey back to Mongla, where you will disembark the boat. Drive back (8 hrs.) to Dhaka with pack lunch. Arrive Dhaka in the late afternoon & check in hotel.
Day 06‐08: Dhaka‐Srimangal (3 Days/2 nights)
After breakfast drive to Srimangal (210 km) passage through the Asian highways through the green countryside, vast croplands, wide haors and wayside interesting markets.
Srimangal is famous for locating world largest tea garden and particularly for the Lawachara National park which is one of the richest protected area where the visitor can watch the rare wildlife like the Hoolock Gibons, Slow Loris, Black Bear, Python including more than 20 other mammal species and 246 species of colorful birds. The important birds species are, Hill Myna, Hornbill, Emerald dove, Green Pigeon, Koel, Bulbul etc.
Ecologically the rain forest of Lawachara, Shatchara Rema‐Kalinga wildlife Sanctuary which are the part of tarap hill ranges between the Indian sub continental and the indo‐china floristic region.
In the afternoon the visit of Madhabpur lake and the Monipuri tribes, famous for their cultural excellence.
Day 07: Srimangal
Full day excursion to Baikabil. This water body is famous for harboring different species migratory birds and fishing zone. You will enjoy the local villages and their typical lifestyle.
Day 08: Srimangal‐Dhaka (5 hrs.)
During the forest trail you can enjoy the exiting experience with the overwhelming symphony of singing birds and nonstop ringing from the small insect like Cricket. You can also visit the nearby Khashia tribal village. After lunch drive back to Dhaka. Overnight stay at hotel in Dhaka.
Day 09: Excursion to Jahangir Nagar University (30 km)
Drive to Jahangirnagar University campus to observe the migratory birds in the lake water where you can observe hundred thousand of different duck species. Common teal, Lesser Whistling teal, Pockhard Brahminy Kite, Pariah Kite, Purple Moorhen, Jacanaete, different type Doves, Wood pigeon, Parakeet, Cuckoo, Holkoha, Crow Pheasant. Owe pied Kingfisher, Bea Catcher, Woodpecker, Barbet, Black Durango, Green Bulbul and Paradise Flycatcher can be sited in the forested cover inside and outside of the campus. Overnight stay in Dhaka.
Day 10: Departure Dhaka
After breakfast free till transfer to airport for final departure.
