Itinerary Detail
Day 01 - Fly to the airport and drive to Lhasa. Afternoon is free adjust for altitude
Day 02-03 - City tour in Lhasa
Day 04 - Start early to Gyantse via Yumdrok Lake.
Day 05 - Visit Pecho Monastery and Kumbum Stupa, then drive to Shigatse. It takes 1.5 hour. Upon arrive in Shigatse, go to visit Tshilhunpo Monastery.
Day 06 - Shigatse toLhastse (4050m)
Day 07 - Lhatse to Hot Spring (270km). It takes 6-7 hours normally. A few kilometers after Lhaste is the tsanggpo River. From it, the road enters a river valley with scattered village. The landscape in this area is very particular for photographing. If you get there early, you can take a bath in the hot spring.
Day 08 - Hot spring to TSO Chen (210km).
Day 09 - Tsochen – Getse (285km)
Day 10 - Getse to Shongbha (280km). A full day you drive westwards via Salty lake
Day 11 - Shongbha to Gar (230km), which is the capital of west Tibet – Ali Prefecture.
Day 12 - Gar to Tsaparang. (255km). It takes 10 hours for the whole day trip.
Day 13 - Visit to kingdom and Toling Temple.
Day 14 - Tsaparang to Tarchen (340km).
Day 15 - Walk bout 22 km to Dri-ra-puk. En route you can see the east and north face of Mt. Kailash.
Day 16 - Dri-ra-puk to Zutrul Puk (22km). It is the hatdest day. Leading up towards a high pass, the Dromala Pass (5630m), and head to Zutrul Puk, the renowned meditating cave for Milarpa.
Day 17 - Zutrul Puk to Manasarova (10km). This is the final day of circumstances of Mt. Kailash.
Day 18 - Manasarova to Paryang (300km). En route cross several branches of yarlung Tsangpo River.
Day 19 - Paryang to Saga (255km)
Day 20 - Saga to Peiku Tsuo (110km). Leave Saga, cross the Yarlung Tsangpo River by ferry. Camp near the Peiku Tsuo with the view of Shishapangma (8013km).
Day 21 - Peiku Tsuo to Zhangmu (180km)
Day 22 - Depart from Zhangmu to Kathmandu
