Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, meet & transfer to hotel.
You'll be greeted at the airport by our representative from the company, so look out for our company sign written on a placard after you come out of the exit gate. From there you will be transferred to your hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu
Full day sightseeing cultural tours in Swoyambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath&Pashupatinath. Overnight hotel.
Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2800m), start trek to Phakding (2610m)
After a very early start, and an early take off from Kathmandu Domestic Airport,a 45 minute flight is all it takes to propel us into the Everest region of Nepal. The land in gat Lukla (2800m) is spectacular and on arrival we are greeted by our Sir darand trekking crew who organize the luggage and hustle us off for tea. After a leisurely lunch we start the trekin earnest,setting off for a gentle walk to Phakding (2800m), a further 3 hours to the north. The trail leads through Lukla, past hotels, shops and airline offices to the edge of the Lukla plateau where the trail drops to meet the intersection of the Jiri trail at Chablung. From here the trail follows the Dudh Kosi north through the village of Ghatand then finally to Phakding where we spend the night.
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3441m)
From Phakding the trail continues north up the Dudh Kosi valley, staying 100m above the river on its west bank.The trail leads us to Jorsale (2810m) where we enter the Sagarmatha National Park, and submit our trekking permits for checking. From here we continue on an ever-steepening trail to Namche Bazaar (3440m), known simply as Namche. En route we cross the spectacular suspension bridge high.
Above the confluence of the Bhote Kosi and the Dudh Kosi, and shortly after glimpse our first view of Everest, way off to the north-east. The trail to Namche is steep and long, but eventually we reach the remarkable Sherpa capital perched high on the hill side and dominated to the east by the immense bulk of Kwangde (6187m).
Day 05: Acclimatization day- Trekking aroundNamcheBazaar.
Acclimatization is important before trekking higher, and this is the first of two effects of scheduled stops which allows us to gradually become used to the effects of altitude the lower pressure and the thinner air. We can spend the day by taking a side trip to Thamior Khumjung, by visiting the National Park Visitor Centre on the hill above Namche or by simply resting and brow singin the shops in the town. Namche is a fascinating place simply to 'hangout' and take in the culture of the mountains, from the trading of visiting Tibetans to the stories of departing mountaineers.
Day 06: Trek to Khumjung (3790m)
Today we trek towards Khumjung. The snowy peaks surround the beautiful Khumjung valley. From Khumjung, we can see the world’s highest mountain Mt.Everest. The Monastery of Khumjung is very beautiful to see. Khumjung is the traditional village and the culture of people of this place may be interesting for you.
Day 07: Trek to Dole (4200m)
Trek from Khumjungto Dole[4040m] which takes about five hours. Soon after leaving Khumjung the trail climbs to a large chorte non top of a ridge. This ridge descends from Khumbila, a 5734m peak, said to be the abode of the patron God of the Khumbu region. The trail descends slightly towards the Sanasa and then trail ascends up to Mongla (4000m). From here, you can see panoramic views of various mountains. You trek steeply descend passing through Phortse Tenga and from there, the trail climbs steeply to Dole, through rhododendron and birch forest estooned with hanging mosses and lichens. You can enjoy delicious meal at Phortse Tenga(3650m).
Day 08: Trek to Machermo (4470m)
Trek from Dole to Machhermo [4410m] and it takes about three hours. From Dole you climb steadily along the side of the valley, where the small and thorny bushes give way to scrub juniper as the altitude increases. The trail passes many summer settlements, which are used when yaks are taken to these pastures to graze in the summer months. Ahead of you are excellent views of Cho Oyu, while back down the valley are the peaks of Kantega and Thamserku. This is a short day and you will arrive at Machhermo in time for lunch.
Day 09: Machhermo to Gokyo (4750m)
Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo [4750m] which takes about four hours. Today you head for the lakes at Gokyo. You follow a very scenic path to Pangka and then descends lightly, following one of the melt-water Rivers which flow down the west side of the Ngozumpa Glacier. You climb a steep rocky path inclined into the valley by the side of the glacier, passing the first of the holy lakes. You soon arrive at the second of the lakes, crossing the path which heads across the glacier to ChoLa (5420m.) - your route to Lobuche and Everest, later in the trek. The third lake is known as Dudh Pokhari and on its eastern shore is the settlement of Gokyo. Walking by the side of the lake, the scenery is magnificent with the summits of Cho Oyu and Gyachung Kang reflected in its emerald green waters.
Day 10: Acclimatization day in Gokyo, 4790m and day excursion to GokyoRi (5360m).
Early wake up and climb up to the Gokyo-Ri, for panoramic view of Mahalangur Himalayan range, it takes approximately 2hrs climb to the top of the peak, providing a panoramic view of Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse and Tawache & a great looking of Ngozumpa glacier a largest glacier in Nepal. Then decent to Gokyo and relax with your Lunch & hot tea. Over-night at guest house.
Day 11: Cross Renjo La 5,388m to Lungden (4,380m)
The crossing of the Renjo La Pass will be exciting and challenging as we descend into remote northern valley where access is restricted, and the landscape is progressively that of the Tibetan Valleys beyond the border. There is a chance we will meet Tibet an traders descending from theNangpa La pass that leads through the Himalayas from Tibet with their caravans of woolly yaks laden with goods. Overnight at guest house.
Day 12: Trek ends Lukla via Namche Bazzar (3441m)
After taking breakfast, we trekdown to Thame more amazing snow peaks.We may meet Tibet an trader encampments along the way for pictures of a rare life style. About 150 meters above Thame, there is a Thame Monastery, a pictures que monastery set among the many homes of monks and lay people. It’s perched on the side of a hill over looking the valley. This is the site for the spring celebration of the Mani Rimdu festival, held about the middle of May each year.
We continue our trekking following the flat and descending to first resting place Thame after heading towards to Namche bazaar.
The trek continues along the Dudh Kosi River to the small mountain air-strip at Lukla where you will catch your return flight to Kathmandu.
Day 13: Morning fly back to Kathmandu and after arrival in Kathmandu drive to coffee farm in Dhading.
After arrival Kathmandu airport, directly drive to Dhading which is approx. 3 and half hours’ drive.
Dhading, situated west of Kathmandu is close to the capital in terms of distance, but large parts of the district, especially in the north, are very remote due to lack of roads. The village is not situated very high, so it is nice and warm even throughout the winter, but still you have excellent views on the Annapurna range, Ganesh Himal, Mount Manaslu. You can see an impressive view and natural beauty which surrounds Nalang.
Here you will see organic coffee farm and will accommodate in a simple resort from where you can have good mountain views.
Home to Nepal’s highest coffee plantation and perhaps one of the highest organic coffee estates in the world, this idyllic setting is a model for environmentally friendly fair trade coffee production and tourism for developing the rural area based for helping the unskilled local women’s and disadvantage groups.
Day 14: In Dhading
Today you will visit our schools project, short walk around the villages and meet local people.
Day 15: Drive back to Kathmandu
Day 16: Final departure from Kathmandu.
