Itinerary Detail
Day 01 - Fly in and transfer to Lhasa. Afternoon is free to adjust for altitude.
Day 02-03 -City tour in Lhasa
Day 04 - Drive to Ganden Monastery. After visiting Ganden, begin to trek along a trail going up to the slope towards east. It takes 1.5 hrs. to a pass. From it, the upper Hebu valley can be seen below, left of the ridge. It takes another 3 hours to get to Hebu village from the pass. To start early for next pass, the best choices is to cross the river and camp near the nomads.
Day 05 - This is the hardest day. First it takes 4 hour to climb up to a pass through a steep trail which is not easy to recognize, and at least 2 more hours to go down through the steep trail to get camp site.
Day 06 - Walk up to the Sukhe La, which is lower and easier than joker Jooker La pass. After the pass, the valley narrows into a short gorge before an opening grassy meadows, and then pass more nomad tents to reach a Junction of 2 books, 6-7 hrs.
Day 07 - It takes 6-7 hours today, En route visit to Yemalung – Padmasambhava’s meditation cave.
Day 08 - 2-3 hours walk to Samye Monastery
Day 09 - Sameye to Tsedang Tvia chingpuk caves.
Day 10 - Visit to Traduk Temple, and the Tombs of the Tibet King. Overnight Tsedang hotel.
Day 11 - Leave for the airport and fly out.
